"Make everyday a day lived well..." - Rodney
Ranger's Remedy combines Nature's own magnificent compounds to effectively and gently deep clean the irritating chemicals from noxious plants, insect bites and stings from our human skin. That's why it must be left on for 30 minutes minimum, it needs time to effectively soothe the skin from the irritating compounds.
Ranger's Remedy is not a lotion, cream or pharmaceutical topical treatment.
The soothing effect from Ranger's Remedy is your bodies own self-defense responding to the removal of the irritating chemicals.
Firstly, we all have a bit of crazy in us...how we channel and utilize it's force is the difference between success and your run-of-the-mill nuts! There was already an existing body of SCIENCE on the urushiol contained in poison oak, poison ivy, and poison sumac. For the human integumentary system (our skin), it is one of Nature's most potent allergens. While I had experienced eastern poison ivy while serving as a Marine in South Carolina, my deepest and most painful experiences were with western poison oak. My plan was simple if I could develop a truly effective cleansing agent for Nature's "Big Kahuna", the rest was easy peasy.
We aren't sure, that's where we need your help! Join our Nature's Renegade Club and share your stories of Nature and how Ranger's Remedy tamed Nature's NASTIES!
Do I need to pretreat the affected area before applying Ranger's Remedy?
No, the effective biologics in Ranger's Remedy does not need harsh chemicals, surfactants, or other compounds creating a resistant layer to it being absorbed deep into your skin where the irritating compounds are located.
When should I apply Ranger's Remedy?
As soon as possible to the affected area, giving it a minimum of 30 minutes absorption time before rinsing.
Do you ever wonder, why you're here...me too.
The story of Ranger's Remedy began in my youth when I "knew" I loved being in Nature and the outdoors. Through the years, I certainly discovered everyone of Nature's Nasties that are bent on surviving and/or protecting themselves. From toxic plants, biting and stinging insects and everything in between.
Blessed with three robust and outdoors loving sons, I spent their childhoods reliving mine. That included all the rashes, bites and stings from living on the "Wild Side" of life. As a parent, I discovered I would take a wider swath of remedies and snake oils into consideration than before.
It wasn't until I was a returning college student in my 40's studying biology that I became intimately involved in developing a remedy versus trying to find and purchase one. As life often does, I was directed down a path that at the time seemed more fun and concerning other worldly interest than solving a dermatological conundrum.
I had the pleasure of working two summers as a backcountry ranger in an area I had been hiking for 20 years as a visitor. One of my responsibilities was to attempt to limit the amount of western poison oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum) growing in the areas frequented by backpackers. Poison oak is so abundant on the west coast of the US, that one might think it intentionally planted as an ornamental!
In the process of doing my job I would get the dermatitis associated with poison oak everywhere, my eyelids, neckline, hands etc. My experience had taught me to NOT scratch or otherwise break the skin of the affected area. That's much harder than it sounds in reality, since the "urushiol" the plants oily sap is one of Nature's most potent allergens to humans.
It was on one of these backcountry spikes that I had a particularly bad case of the rash, that in desperation I sought relief in a cool stream. Gently rubbing my skin with some of the plants growing in and near the stream, was my inspired thought to not scratching it with my unclean hands and nails. To my surprise, within 20 minutes the itching had stopped and most of the redness and swelling had subsided.
And as they say...the rest is history.
My goal is to give every human who loves venturing into Mother Nature a tool to ease some of the discomforts Nature's Nasties will inevitably bring your way.
Stay Wild My Friends...
